Well as you may have heard, windows XP is one of the most unreliable commercially available operating systems. My advice to you is to upgrade to one of the following alternatives:
Red Hat Linux 7.2 (http://www.redhat.com/download/rhlinux72.html)
FreeBSD 4.5 (http://www.freebsd.org/where.html)
Mandrake Linux 8.2 (http://www.linux-mandrake.com/en/ftp.php3)
All of those operating systems are at least as good as windows XP, and are a lot more stable and reliable. They are also free.
Here is an article (http://www.geocities.com/trunasuci_74/linux/chapter1.html) telling you about the history of linux.
Or you could try looking throughthis list of operating systems (http://dmoz.org/Computers/Software/Operating_Systems/x86/) for intel x86 computers, there are many alternatives to Windows XP that you might want to consider.

Some people told me that it could be a problem with some Hardware like RAM or HD.
What do you think?
I installed a program call fast ASPI. can be the problem?

It's not a hardware problem it's a Microsoft windows problem. There is nothing wrong with your hardware. It is fine. Don't go and buy some new RAM or anything like that! Your operating system is shit. That is the problem.
My sister also installed a similar ASPI program and her windows (Win98v1) also came crashing to its knees. The problem was not the program however, the problem was her shitty operating system.
Why not at least consider my advice above? i put it forward in good faith, not as a joke!
Good luck anyway......
-
so, pepillo, did you end up installing what we call an 'operating system'?
or did you just go and find somebody who was willing to tell you that your hardware was all wrong, and so was all of your software except windows?
did you get it all working in the end? and if so how?

I know what you need. You need some "high quality H2O".

Sorry, but I talk with some of my friends, and told me that it must be a RAM problem, because I try to install included windows 95, but I had the biggest errors that I have never seen during the installation.
The computer is under guarantee, and, no problem!if it's broken they will have to change and give me a new computer. XDDD May be.
I know that windows operation systems are a shit, and I get a copy of Linux Mandrake. But I need time to learn more about Linux, and I prefer to install it in my old computer for make a proof, before to install it in my new computer because I have a lot of work and I would like to know more about Linux before to install it.
I would like to know some web pages with good information about Linux and, what is the best copy or suite of Linux? I have Madrake Linux, is it a good option?
Certainly, sorry for my bad english.
And than you for reading my stupid cuestions, I know.
-
the address error definitly seems to be a memory problem. however look it up on google or microsofts website. no one here will help you as this is a ms bashing site, sorry.

That's all well and good but, trust me, the only way to learn about it is to install it and then USE it. A lot. You won't be losing anything, linux is a lot better than windows, a lot of the time, and you will be glad you took the time to learn it, plus you can still keep your windows also. quote:

it is good, i hear, as you have it, i recommend it. Also try red hat linux, or some say SuSE linux. Corel Linux and Slackware get good reviews too, but i have not tried them. Again, to learn about linux install it and use it. It is easier than you think. Also, for anything you need to know there is always Google (http://www.google.com/linux)
Good luck!

Topic: I can't install Windows OS
That's a problem? ;) In the final analysis, Winders just plain SUX. You'd be better off giving it up, and getting Linux. I'd recommend Mandrake as it's very user friendly, not difficult for newbies, and yet is still feature-packed. You also get scads of free software with the distro. I haven't found anything that I can't do with Linux that I could do with Winders.

Hey now, I'm no fan of Bill, but education dosn't mean jack compared to intelligence. Einstine didn't even make it out of grade school if I recal corectly. aparantly he had trouble in math of all things :D .
Steve Jobs was a highschool drop out, so were many many great inteligent people.
Finaly, to Billy boy might not be a computer genius, he is one hell of a spin doctor and marketer, that outta give him some points on the inteligence meeter.

that's not intelligence, it is many things, i suppose intelligence is in there, it might even be one of the top ten things you need if you want to be a successful spin doctor, but i wouldn't bet on it.
Pepillo, with reference to your question about how to find out some basics about linux, as i say, install it first, then play with it. Everybody says mandrake is good, so use it to start with. THEN visit this page and work your way through it. (http://home.c2i.net/dark/linux.html)
Print it out, so it's easy to read while you are using the computer. Don't bother reading it till you have linux installed, it won't make sense, until you try it out on your own computer.
That's my advice, good luck!

Umm, I have a couple of terms for you. See if they ring any bells. Macromedia, Discreet, Alias Wavefront, Newtek, Corel, Metacreations (disbanded), Borland, Ulead. Sound familiar? What platform? Certainly not Linux. Mac? Barely. Hate on M$ all you want; fasct remains that any gtraphics work has to be done 90% on Windows. Mac doesn;t have it anymore. Hey, I'll be the first to get rid of any polluting M$ products on my comp, IF I didn't have games and graphics stuff to do all the time. (http://tongue.gif)

WOW! you really added something to the discussion, As gets pointed out on these forums all the time, the reason companies don't port their software is because they think there is no market for their product on different OSs.
A ridiculous perception when it comes to linux, since a lot of those software vendors make both windows and MacOS versions of their programs.
I suspect they think Mac users are more likely to pay for software than linux users. pathetic.
Anyway, what is your point about M$? all those companies you mention... are NOT Microsoft. they are all software vendors who will write software for whatever OSs they think they can make money selling software for at any one time. M$ on the other hand add a whole new dimension to dirty tricks and ruthless backstabbery.
Also, i notice you missed out
Adobe from your list. Plenty of vendors DO write for other OSs, M$ even brought out some unix versions of internet explorer. And your facetious "certainly not linux" comment sticks i am afraid, Corel (whom you do mention) were among the first commercial linux vendors/distributors around.
this is an anti Microsoft site, so get with the plot, and stop being so irritating, dickhead.

HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHH!!!!
Ummm.... I was gonna reply but....
HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHA
HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!
Oh god, you CAN'T be serious?!!
HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!!!
Let me collect myself and then I'll reply to this.
Ok here I go, right down the list:
Macromedia- ALL of their product's ship for Mac, and are well supported, all new versions and updates ship at nearly the same time as their PC counterparts. Finaly Macromedia is SHIT compared to Adobe, no one seriously uses their Junk.
Discreet- No industry profesional uses their stuff on a PC! Go to any production lab and try to find a non-UNIX based system runing Flint! Where in your ass did you pull this shit out of?
NewTek- Makes well supported Mac and UNIX versions of their products. Lightwave for OS X has had rave reviews and is the latest version.
Alias|Wavefron- Mac version for this also, well supported, great reviews. Besides, no one in the industry uses this stuff on a PC, it's all Linux based!!! Christ my bro, at dreamworks runs AW Maya on RedHat Machines thrugh GNOME.
Corel- Err... What? Who the fuck uses Corel!!!!!!
Metacreations- Started on the fucking mac, moron!!!! Was allways well supported and the product's they sold off to other companies for support and production are well supported on the Mac as well.
Borland- Mac's have Symantech, Metroworks, apples own free development tools which are fully fetured. So why do I care about Borland? Not to mention the fact that Linux and UNIX have literaly thousands of FREE development environments and tools available.
Ulead- What the fuck? No one uses that garbage when there are plenty of alternatives out there. Jesus H, what kind of crack did you smoke before you posted.
You MUST be a troll, because there is no way you could seriously belive the shit coming out of your mouth.
EDIT: Oh god, I just had to add to this.
90% of graphics work HAS to be done on a Wintel PC?!
Did Bill Gate's ass rape you? Who told you that, Holy shit your off base.
Also, as Calum pointed out, you conspicuously avoided mentioning Adobe. I guess it would have been hard to try and argue that the DEFACTO graphics applications developer is not supported on a Mac. Especialy when upward of 75% of ALL graphics development is done on Macintosh environments, a heafty 17% or so (mostly 3d and video, infact this acount's for nearly all the 3d and video stuff) is done on Linux/*NIX boxes. The rest get's tossed over to NT.
Well, at least PC's got studioMax and tons of gamez d000d (http://tongue.gif)
HAHAAHAHA!

Borland makes Kylix, a programming aid for Linux development that they derived from their Delphi line of programming aids (http://smile.gif)

did you guys notice that askarnie posted a couple of other posts yesterday that were totally devoid of bullshit, directly after he/she posted this pile of crap?
I am honeslty beginning to wonder, what with a lot of the people who come here all exhibiting this phenomenon, if there isn't some competition or bet going on somewhere where they dare people to start posting here, but they have to make their FIRST posts as EMBARRASSING and off base as possible.
Maybe the person who shows themselves up as the biggest moron gets $500 or something along those lines.
Otherwise, there's just no accounting for it!

Err I just noted that my statement on Borland made t sound like Symantech and Metroworks were Apple's. I meant those in conjuntion with Apples free application development environment, Dev. Tools.

My computer is in the shop now but the technician say me that the computer hasn't problems, jaja, I think that he is stupid, I can't install any windows and the computer hasn't problems. My computer without OS=a stupid metal box, I can play soccer with it, maybe the solution.
FUCK WINDOWS AND FUCK THE SHOP WHERE I BOUGHT MY COMPUTER.

Pepillo, before playing soccer with your metal box...
Did someone ever deleted and redo the "files allocation tables"?
You don't install or desinstall an OS (especialy XP) by simply clicking "uninstall".
It's a whole bigger process which I 'm not even able to do myself but any computer guy can do.
If you vendor is not able to do that he is a nut.

I finally realised what "jaja" was (http://smile.gif)
En Ingles, el sonido de risa se escribe "HAHAHA".
Si no areglan tu computadora para poder usar Windows, talves todavia sera posible a usar Linux.
Bueno, ase mucho que no escribo en espa

(this is why we need forums in other languages btw)
Pepillo, just get the guy in the shop to reinstall windows, or do it yrself (though i don't know exactly how with XP), or just erase windows entirely, and use another system.
I do recommend having BSD or Linux as well on your computer even if windows is working. This way you will have at least one working system. Even if windows cacks up again (which it will) if the other system is working (it will be, i am sure) then you can still use your computer.
I wish i could speak Espanol so i could say something! You will just have to read this in English!
