I want to ditch Window$ altogether. I have been running SuSE Linux and Win98. The reason I keep Win98 is that all my kids games are Window$ games. Is there a way these games will run under Linux ?

you might as well try them in wine.
are you fairly competent at the linux you have?
basically i would just keep fiddling with windows emulation stuff and look for alternative programs to those closed source windows binaries till you're happy. This might not turn out ideal with games, but good luck anyway. simple programs will probably wine okay and i am finding that dosemu is fantastic for dos programs in linux (no sound though)

Have you tried using the SET BLASTER command in DOS?

I haven't played with dosemu much, but I was able to get it to work just by typing "SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 T4" (or something to that effect) and making sure sound was enabled in the dosemu.conf file.

But if you have tried this, then ignore me.  ;)
