Yeah, they are. I can ply up to 4 mallets, working on 6...

wow! i don't play one, but my cousin Kenny is a very good percussionist, he plays timpani and xylophone among other things.

i do have a kalimba though, which is nothing like a marimba despite the name.

Yeah, percussion is fun to get into. There's so much stuff in it heh.
