Hahahaha. And Mac OS X will already have a similar feature with the release of Tiger!

Shows how far behind Microsoft is.

Not to mention BeOS had BeFS years ago.  The engineers who worked on BeFS are now at Apple, so the OS X implementation of filesystem metadata should be cool.  WinFS, from what I understand, isn't even at the filesystem level; it's just a glorified database.

Right.  It's an SQL-based layer on top of NTFS.

And hopefully, Linux will have it when ReiserFS 4 becomes the norm.  :cool:
