Thanks to DOSman for telling us about windowsBS.com (http://www.windowsbbs.com) If you want proof that windows sucks, then see what real windows users are saying!
Especially check out the posts about SP1!
There are at least 4 pages of posts about it, most of them about how they can't get it to work!
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Yep! These forums are there to give us a good clue as to how narrow-minded some winders users are! Really hillarious :D :D :D

Oh yes. Everyone who is currently, or has used a Microsoft operating system is narrow minded and ignorant.
No that I support them or anything, because I don't, but Windows users are a much more diverse group than say a group of Linux users.
Sure, there are all the morons you could hope to find, and then some in the Windows group... but some are Linux users too.
Take me for instance... I use Windows for gaming only, but that still makes me a Windows user.
PS - Redhat is my main OS, so don't flame me yet.

My mistake. I was referring mostly to the Windowsbbs forums and to those Windows users who take for granted anything that M$ claims about stability, trustworthy computing, innovation etc).
I'll correct my previous post. Thanks for noticing.

i use windows for connecting to internet, since my modem is not working in linux, however i stand by all comments about how there are millions of morons using windows and many of them frequent the windows BS.
i shan't be visiting aforementioned BS however, since they block banned my work's IP (because i made my one and only post there while at work). that does not matter now, as i have changed work, however it's the principle of the thing...

Ironic

ironic is one of the most misused words of our time. i think i have heard it seen used correctly on one ocassion, perhaps two, in the last ten years.
-
I thought it was quite ironic when Microsoft themselves were charged with software piracy after having started the BSA to crack down on businesses pirating Microsoft software.
How'd I do?

Either you're calling me narrow-minded here or you're just misusing the word "ironic". Since the word is Greek, let me be the judge of its meaning will you? I know what irony and ironic mean better than you (it's my native language you see).
On the other hand, if you're calling me narrow-minded then you're calling everyone in here the same. If that's the case you do not deserve to be replied to :D
However, if nothing of the above is correct, please throw some light here and let me know what you meant ;)

yes, that's pretty good. now i've made that comment i bet tons of people will come here and be genuinely ironic just so i can no longer say 'about 2 people have actually been ironic in the last blah blah blah...' :D
Most people nowadays who use the word 'irony' probably think it means 'a bit like iron'.

Not calling you narrow minded. But having been around Apple sucks, and Windows sucks, and Linux sucks forums. There are users who want thier OS to win. And then there are users who just want the other OS to die. Either way, I dunno how many have tried the other products extensively. But surfing either forum generally brings up an equal amount of close-minded OS bigots. Thier sig generally has some "fuck [OS here]" mentality though.

I definitely agree. There are close-minded Windows users as well as Mac or Linux users (rare), something with which I certainly disagree. However, being a Linux user means that you have been through the world of Windows and have a specific view on both OSes, which would 99% be negative about windows by the way.
-
hmm. So really when you said 'ironic'you were in fact saying that people who come here are naturally predisposed to being closed minded then.
first of all, bollocks, and second of all, what do you expect from a site with the word fuck in the title? also might i point out that the only real pains in the arse who have ever posted on this forum have either been fanatical anti-mac/unix morons or fanatical pro-windows morons. You don't seem to get many linux using out and out dumbasses to be honest.
-
Ah finally. After wandering for so long I have found my stance on my favorite OS.
All OS' Suck. (http://linuxmafia.com/cabal/os-suck.html)
-
wow! they all suck except AIX which sucks raw eggs through a thin straw!
so if they all suck, can i assume you will be using the batch processing method popular before the advent of unix?
-
No, even those were on the suck list. And I always liked AIX personally...
-
these people are hilarious.... we should keep these people in cages at zoos with their Windows PC and laugh at them.
this guy opened up his "Processor" (box is what he meant) in order to fix that his taskbar would hide or somethin':

(yes i was banned... but i have ways around that)

That link just makes me cry..
As for my OS. I think I'll smash my head against something and hope some nice GUI develops in my hallucinations.
-
Oh my god, I can't believe I just read that entire thread!! Talk about humor. Maybe we're better off leaving some people with Windows. (http://smile.gif)
-
I read the whole thread too, I have no fucking idea what they are talking about! Expanding buttons?
They couldn't be talking about the systray icons disappearing when you exit an application, could they?
That would mean that one of those dipshits had some application running in the background for weeks, even though he wasn't using it.
windowsbbs.com is just sad.
-
All I know is that I am now dumber for having read it.
-
That is a riot! "Now, look at the screen and tell me what you see." ... and he gets it wrong!
I kind of miss doing trouble calls. Like when they make you drive 150 miles at 3:30pm Friday afternoon, to show them where the on/off switch is.
-
ye gods. but believe it or not some of the threads on that board are almost sensible. my favourite part from that link (yes i dumbfoundedly read the entire thread too! )

CHEERS!Finally found someone who has the same problem.
Sorry, I have no answer for you. I have called Microsoft and even they dont know what I am talking about. They had me hide my sys tray task bar. But, have heart, sometimes it comes right back up to normal and stays that way for weeks. Then all of a sudden when I open my CPU, its all exposed, maybe thats why Microsoft told me to just hide it, so it wouldnt bother me. Good luck. Let me know if you ever find answer.
what?
