Title: Microsoft not supporting their products to OEM users?
Post by: scottmso on 9 June 2002, 19:40
I went onto Microsoft's website and went to their support part of the site to get tech support. It asked for my product registration code (or some other junk like that). The copy of Windows is an OEM copy (it came with a Dell PC that I purchased), so M$ is unwilling to provide tech support. And for even those that purchased their copy at retail, they will provide support twice then charge a fee!    :(    :(    :(    :(    :(   (BTW, this is something that Dell couldn't answer; it is about software compatibility.) Does anyone know of a direct email address to contact Microsoft at? Thanks

Nope, but Dell is just a slavish whore (http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=02/03/19/0516243&mode=thread&tid=98) to Microsoft that makes lame machines with crippled motherboards. Don't buy shit from them.
