First time visitor and poster; please forgive me if I do something wrong.
I want to delete all of those hidden files that microsoft puts on my computer. The only documentation I can find for "Really Hidden Files" is for win9x, version 2.6b.
What can I do for win2000?
Thanks.
Ray

The thread with all the information (including 2k) is here: http://forum.fuckmicrosoft.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=10&t=000001 (http://forum.fuckmicrosoft.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=10&t=000001)

I posted it here:

Someone posted a bit about it in that thread, but he claimed that he was able to do it from inside Win2K. I wasn't able to when I did it. It gave me that little box with the ! mark when I tried to delete index.dat in both explorer and in the command prompt. Even though IE wasn't executed, that file was somehow always "in use." (phoning home, most likely)
Hope it works out for you

PurgeIE (http://aandrc.com/purgeie/) is a program for getting rid of those really hidden files and it supports windows 2000. it's free for the first month and then it's US$14.95 (it used to be $5, but hey...) after that.
