Actually, the fucking computer logged in as the administator account and not my normal account. when i went to the user contol panel, it does not list that account but the folder is still there with all my crap. What the hell???

You can't... Bill Gates probably hates you, and therefore has deleted your settings.

Throw XP out of your Windows, and get a real OS. That's the only long term solution.

I couldn't agree more. XP is not a good OS, there are many perfectly good OSes out there that outperform windows XP but just don't have the benefit of Microsoft's marketing. Any of the links above should suffice.

I suggest Debian GNU/Linux

not to replace xp surely? more like lycoris, mandrake or suse you'd think?
those still using windows xp might find this interesting (http://belg88.com/faqman/index.php?op=cat&c=5)

or dive into slackware like i did. you must have patience and be a self learner if you have no unix/linux experience.

Life is really boring with Suse (in a good way)!
However, at work they ask me to help with their windows problems....Just trying to get win98 to boot in normal mode is a chore!
Did you know that 98 may never boot normally by just pressing the reset, but if you flip the power switch on and off it actually makes a difference?
This guy still doesn't back up his shit! and forget about trying Linux....even though all he does is read e-mail....you should see the problems he has just getting his e-mail with outlook.
Which reminds me....does k-mail or any other linux client import outlook contacts and all that shit?

You can export outlooks' address book into a text file. Which you should be able to import into another good mail application (just don't use the M$ outlook version of exporting the file - this does not even work properly with outlook).
The only problem is making sure the import reads the fields correctly, which should not be a problem.
