First Post :
At about 98% of completing the installation of SP3, it froze. My only option was to reset. After Logo i get BSOD with some stupid excuse for an error report. about a complete page long. I'm assuming the SP3 install buggered everything (dlls,reg,etc) so I'm re-installing win2k.
I currently have Linux Mandrake and Win2k running on the same computer, but I use Win2k more so because I'm still trying very hard to get a grasp of Linux.
I still remember the good ol' DOS days...and when Apps and Games started coming out with the Windows Stickers on the boxes. I told my friend, "This is the end of DOS as we know it."
He didn't believe me.

I'm not a mod, and I don't have anything against electroman. Just trying to interject a little humor at the expense of Windows, but it obviously didn't work and he didn't ask for any help so electroman is right, I shouldn't have dribbled.

Second of all, where do you see anything stating this site is your personal support monkey?
Third of all, there are only a few people who post here and some of them are *very* helpful.
Fourth of all, some of those people need to sleep once in a while and there may not have been anyone around to read your post, have a little fucking patience.
Fifth of all, I would have helped you immediately with your problem if I hadn't went out to run a few errands for a few hours right after my last post, before your plea for help.
Sixth of all, you were the first one to throw a flame, I was just trying to interject some humor that obviously didn't work.
Seventh of all, you ain't getting any help from me now so fuck off.

Electroman, the people here are torn between two worlds. Helping people cope with little wind0ze things day to day, and not helping people get heavy tech support, and helping with anything wind0ze related, feelings that install bullshit IS a day to day issue. There are many people here that fall into the latter category.
Now if these forums were only for dissing MS, Wind0ze, and Billy, then why say this: quote:

Still, my views will get plenty of dissing. So the best thing is to smile and just ignore those who won't help you. I must digress that you DON'T invalidate people who ask for wind0ze help on these forums(by making a FAQ question forbidding it). It's not like it's super common, far more shitshooting then "help me" posts exsist here. It's freespeech in a way, and anyone who posts such a question should be ready for flak, but should also be able to encounter some kindred souls...
Ok I suppose you could make a FAQ question saying asking for wind0ze help is not outlawed, but you'll recieve alot of grumbles, so beforewarned. (http://smile.gif)

and yes, i stick around here cuase i like to help people, i mean i do alot of work for my highschool. for free, and im not the one that said "jon, its not a joke, you do more for us then I.T. does" after i started dissing I.T. becusae we need a win98 and novell discs. so electroman, CALM DOWN, and respect people on this board, thats all. void main wasn't trying to be an asshole. believe me, ive read some pretty harsh opions that he has. so, i don't really know about the win2k sp3 problem though, give it anoughter try.

then he whines and comes over all self righteous when he does not like the responses.

basically, if all you can do is demand stuff and then comlain about it then fuck off.
sadly these losers who say they are too good for this board on their first day of posting usually come back.

for those who don't (example, electroman won't remember since he's new here) i think x11 is referring to my habit of shouting and swearing at new members who seem to think the world owes them a living.
i mean, honestly electroman, if you want to be part of this community then welcome to the board! and i mean that, but if you are just going to flap yer mouth off then sorry, but i'll continue to shout and swear.
people come here in their spare time and if you ask a question then you lost nothing if nobody replies and i think you should be grateful if somebody does! and i do think that whining about people who reply to your posts is pathetic. you do not own the posts that you start, and people can post what they like. personally i love voidmain's posts and would not describe ANYTHING he has EVER posted here as spam.
so, that's it i suppose, contribute or die, and by that i mean contribute good discussion. you need not actually have any technical knowledge to contribute to this forum in my opinion...

About the 'hacking' reply, i was serious. i don't know too many people that do it and have pondered on how often it really happens. Nice pics btw.
ALso I wasn't ranting or raving or angry or mad at anybody (void main) or trying to release my frustrations onto this board and it's users. please read my first post and think of it as you wrote it before you actually read it. I'm just another human with a computer. Is that too corny?

Welcome aboard electroman. I expect that you will like it around here if you hang around. And I also expect you will pick up a higher level of information than you can find anywhere else (you may have to weed through a lot of drivel by all of us at times though).
As for the hacking into your computer I doubt (although possible) that someone from this forum did such a thing. I for one am in the fight *against* hackers (not the coding kind, but the breaking into computers kind of hackers). As far as I am concerned anyone who does that (to systems other than their own for security testing) are a bunch of losers and should be taken out back and shot.
