This post has probably been dun b4 but i'm gonna go for it.

NT = 'New Technology'

When booting w2k it says,
based on NT Techology

Now if you unabbreviate that sentence it makes:

'Based on New tecnology technogoly'...

To me that does not make sense
Maybe the boys at Microsoft didnt do english.

What the hell does XP means?

I guess it's just a way for people to say only "XP" and immediatly think about Windows.

And Windows... windows are shells.

Apple introduced windows. Microsoft named their operating system after windows, and made their own windowing system, now known as "explorer".
