I bet MS's antivirus software itself will create more bugs than it will attempt to fix.

Great business model. Drive both the supply and demand at the same time....Wow!

What will really be amazing is when they charge people a subscription fee for their anti-virus software, then create viruses to pick off anyone who doesn't constantly own a subscription, so don't have the latest definitions. They'll also say that they're better than the other vendors because microsoft was the fastest to get a fix for their own virus.
-
I remember MS bundling anti-virus software in with Windows 3.11. It was completely useless.
You think I'll trust another MS anti-virus product?
-
in my thoughts microsoft is the one costing some of the virus so could make it an excuse to force people upgrade to next windows.. i would never trust microsoft with virus they would problably make it worse.

I thought that they would just buy out Symantec, or Sygate if they ever wanted to get into the anti-anti viri market
Norton is introducing Product Activation anyway....
-
Micro$hit would even be so bold as to try to make Norton and Mcafee software incompatible with windows forceing windows users to pay for M$ antivirus.
-
An anti-virus, eh? Aren't they supposed to make some 'trustworthy' system that can't run anything exept certified software? (That is, certified after paying astronomical amounts of money to M$ and cie. who get to choose what will be certified).
