yeah, i feel ya on that one. upgrading computers with xp is a pain but if you swapp out major parts then u have to run a repair installation of xp to get around the re-register mess.

That XP is absolute bullshit. Im still in shock that a company would have the audacity to use such a system to fight piracy.(registration)

If they HAD to use that, they should at least offer 100% free and totally hassless(no arguing) re-authorization via phone. In addition to being able to re-install it an unlimited amount of times.

Has ANY other software company ever done what MS did for XP? Hopefully not. Woulden't this XP registration stuff be illegal under law somehow?

Here's an example of how easy Windows Product Activation is to crack:

/* The following quote does not represent Refalm in any way and is meanth for educational purpose only, not to apply. Piracy sucks. */

quote:
Here's how to change the Product Key in Windows XP, if you need to
change it for any reason, such as inserting a new corp key from the XP
Keygen to prevent getting blacklisted on the FCKGW corp key when
Service Pack 1 is released:

Change Product Key without Reinstall:
1. Run regedit and go to: HKey_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft
\WindowsNT\Current Version\WPAEvents, on the right double click on
"oobetimer" and change at least one digit of this value to deactivate
windows.

2. Choose run from start menu and type in this command:
%systemroot%\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a to get the activation screen
and go to the second option which is activate by phone .
3. In the new screen choose the option to change product key, and type
in the new product key (Corporate one only). Press update

4. Close that window, reboot your system and enter the command in step
2 for the second time to verify your activation , you should see
"windows is already activated".

LOL! At least in the old days when they'd crack copy protected games, you had to use a hex editior or some n00b friendly thing like Neverlock. Nowadays you can be a total dumbass and crack your XP by following simple step by step instructions.  (http://smile.gif)

Can you believe that 10 year old computer games are HARDER to crack then ultra modern(sure...) windows XP?  :D

Well at least XP is better then W98 once you crack it.
