Title: Windows XP - Bullshit Services
Post by: Cube6 on 31 July 2002, 12:03: Does anybody know what services I can disable in Windows XP? I think all these services are slowing down my computer. :( I want to disable services I know I don't use, or don't need. But I also don't want to harm my system.

By the way I found these services by doing Ctrl+Alt+Del .

It's got a description for about every service in XPoo and weather or not to turn them off. But I say you throw away XP all together and get Linux, its much better, cheaper, faster and you dont have to worry about it spying on you...

Anyhoo.. I messed with XP once.. trying to network it to a 98 machine... no luck... took a trip to Fry's and a new network card for it to finally agree with me... damn POS.. took me forever to find where the config....err.. properties thing for the network was on it... :mad:

FYI, those are processes, not necesarily services. to see services, right click on my computer and select manage, go to services at the bottom ;)
