Well today I tried the newest Longhorn build once again, this time experimented with it in greater detail. I'll have more info on just how uncompatible, confusing, bundled, privacy invading, and resource hogging this piece of shit of an operating system as soon as I finish testing everything I want. I might put up some screenshots too.
But so far I must just a half hour with it made me crave for Windows XP (which I always thought was Microsoft's worst product yet). Longhorn DOES NOT in any way deserve to be called an operating system. I'd say a better name for it would be something like Microsoft DRM Media Player 10.0 : Bootable Edition

I tested their first beta(not the full version), the things that surprised me most were the abcense of (working)internet secrurity, weird dll structure( still haven't figured that out...) and the insane umbrulla structure (it looks like a combination of XP and a game console).

This is my operating system:

Thats Nice Dear. Now does someone want to explain why I just lost 10 or so cents on something completely unrelated to the topic?
-
I'm feeling somewhat bubbly from an elixir of ice-cream and Diet Vanilla Coke.
There was no where else to post it . . .
Ah, all in good fun anyhow. Gravest apologies should it have offended anyone ( ... Faust).

Eh he. I kinda prefer the problems caused by large images more than the problems caused by Linx (RSI being one (http://smile.gif) )
-
Stryker, thanks. And from now on I will include text links instead of full-on pics.

How did you get that message?

At least Windows isn't promoted by some stupid Windows Rock flash animation(unlike a wannabe a Windows clone alternative out there).
-
No, but they did promote Windows XP with flying people, though. And at least no Lindows advert has been banned from any country, unlike the Xbox advert (http://drs.yahoo.com/S=2766679/K=xbox+advert+banned/v=2/SID=w/l=WS1/R=1/H=0/*-http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/entertainment/new_media/newsid_2028000/2028725.stm).
And what does this have to do with the quality of the OS?

Uh, no offense, but what are you doing with Longhorn? First of all, it's not even in beta stages, it's in alpha stages. Meaning it's not even good for TESTING yet, let alone actual use as a retail product. It's very likely that just about everything you're seeing in the Longhorn builds right now will be gone by the time the OS hits mainstream as a RTM.

It starts with a woman giving birth to a baby boy who then shoots out of a window in a surreal sequence.
Viewers then saw the boy ageing rapidly as he flies through the air screaming, before violently crashing into his own grave.
WTF? Well, that would get my attention, I guess...

Please don't go whining about how operating systems that aren't even in beta yet are pieces of shit.
Its clearly not fair and just gives a bad name to everyone registered at this website.

Longhorn beta:
http://www.betaplace.com (http://www.betaplace.com)
Like you see they didn't made it public.
info: http://www.betaplace.com/betaplace/content/AboutBetaPlace.htm (http://www.betaplace.com/betaplace/content/AboutBetaPlace.htm)
PS: I found the effort to obtain this 'beta' a waste of time.
