Aw NUTS, well, it basicly said that Moores law has caught up with Microsoft; the cost of a computer is close to being less than the cost of the closed source Microsoft operating system and it's associated software. It's kind of like the tail wagging the dog; this could get cheapos like me looking more closely at open source as an alternative to buying a $400.00 computer and putting $800.00 into software to run it.
I'll see if I can fix the link; my synopsis isn't as elegant as the article itself, plus they've got statistics to bak up their statements.
