Maybe, maybe not, but if you have seen the thread: "Greenpeace cans Windows" you may understand my sadness.
I'm a vegetarian. I visit PeTA (http://www.PeTA.org/) almost everyday. I wanted to know what software there running, so I took a visit on Netcraft (http://www.netcraft.com/) and it scared the hell out of me...
quote:
The site peta.org is running Microsoft-IIS/5.0 on Windows 2000
I hate to see when a good orginazation like they are, run such evil software... could everyone please send an e-mail to [email protected] ([email protected]) and tell them to run Solaris, Linux, BSD or something else?
You help me a lot if you should!
Thanks in forward.

I couldn't care less about the peta actually (hey .... I like my meat ... don't try and take away my meat (http://smile.gif) ) but what's worse:
http://www.sportbedrijftilburg.com (http://www.sportbedrijftilburg.nl) also runs on win2k/MS-IIS which means some of my taxmoney goes to MS (not that I didn't already knew that, but I still think it's not right)
(d'oh ... bad link)

All the computers in the city senate (gemeentehuis eigenlijk, maar ik heb geen idee hoe je dat in het Engels zegt) Nijmegen have Windows ME for administrative stuff... a good waste of money I soppose (goed idee voor Over de balk? :D ).
I believe the government and eviremental orginasations must stop using Windows, because our tax/donations are wasted on Mr. Gates and Mr. Balmer :(
-
you are right, refalm, but windowsME for administration? windowsME for a cdplayer/doorstop is more like it...
also re: PETA, they probably do not want to use sth they do not know. while i have no sympathy for this ignorant attitude, i totally sympathise with their low budget charity status, and them thinking they would be taking an unnecessary risk by migrating. For administration though, it could only benefit a charity to move to linux in the longer term.
re server space, maybe they do not own the server and have no choice (or active concern) about what OS it runs?

OK, you've got a point... look at my website www.Refalm.com (http://www.Refalm.com), it runs Windows 2000 :(
But when you look at my server, it's Apache on Red Hat Linux (http://smile.gif)
Just visit my webiste and you'll see what I mean

I know... I have to update it... lot's of Win32 apps :( ...
DBZ is just a non-violent version of Akira I guess... that's what fucked it up and made it non-realistic...

i told them that if they start running BSD, Linux, or Solaris I will stop eating living animals.

Thanks. You may also try to stop eating dead animals too. Much healthier too.

The live ones taste better.
-
all the more reason not to eat dead ones, don't you think? ;)
-
I figure that from all this meat that i am eating i better get some excercise while i eat... so i chase my food before i catch it and eat it alive :D
-
Better yet, if you are into big scary meat (grizzly bear, tiger) you can have it chase you before you eat it. Even better exercise.
-
why would you let it chase you if you had the power to eat it? and why wouldn't it run away???
-
It's fun to eat a big and juicy cheeseburger in front of a vegetarian and make noises of pleasure while you eat it.

I am assuming that the beast tires before you do. If the beast tires before you do you can feast away. If you tire before the beast does, the beast will feast away. (http://smile.gif)
