Is there an SSH Client for Windows so that I can connect to my Linux box from a not so pleasant environment?
-
its called putty

http://www.openssh.org/windows.html (http://www.openssh.org/windows.html)

Thx, I'll try that putty thing.
I've heard of Cygwin, I thought it was an emulator? I don't need an emulator, I got the real thing.

There is also TeraTerm SSH. I like the interface better than putty but it only does ssh1.

There is something out there called Absolute Telnet that will allow you to use Telnet, SSH1, and SSH2. It has a free trial for 30 days I think.

I hate to mention this one but the ssh client from http://www.ssh.com/ (http://www.ssh.com/) is very good and it is free for non-commercial use. It even has a graphical scp (WS_FTP like) file transfer utility. But if you have to use Windows you can't beat putty.exe and pscp.exe because they don't have to be installed, are tiny, and work very well.
