what's you favrate computer game? why? my favrate a Quake and SimCity
-
I love SimCity, I've followed it from the very first one... well, that and a bunch of other Maxis games... and Rollercoaster Tycoon is a good one... and Black & White... Caesar II... I'm not sure why, I guess it's just fun to build stuff (well Worms is a great game to play if you have one computer and a group of people in the same location... great game for that... anybody play that one?)

Grim Fandango
-
Total Annihilation (works in Wine!(X))
-
Starsiege (http://www.starsiegesurvivors.com)
Can't get it to work right in wine. :( If I use the native dxinput.dll the keyboard won't work. If I use the MS version the mouse is all messed up.

My favorite computer Game (http://microsoft.com/windowsxp/default.asp)

Half Life... combined with my favorite mod for half life.. The specialists. Some kick ass fun. Tried it in Wine and WineX. Then I told Linux to suck it and replaced Linux with BeOS... been much happier ever since.
-
Specialists gets a bit dull after a while, all you do is run around and shoot stuff. Now DoD, theres a mod. Involves a lot more tactics than TS for a start.
My favorites:
Quake (1 only)
Doom 2 (and plutonia, tnt wads)
Descent 2
UT2003
Starcraft (Warcraft 3 is crap...)

XP isn't a good game. There is no way to win.

I don't think I could ever get bored of TS. DoD is good but they took away Hill. And that was like the only good map.

the first computer game i ever played was starcraft and I've always loved it.
-
SimCity. the first one. i love that game. that is about it though, i do not really play games on the computer. if im feeling "saucy"( :D ) i play games on my game cube, but i usually just don't play video games anymore.
-
everquest....a new addiction
-
I liked sim city 3k unlimited.
BUT, tux racer- now that is loads of laughs. boris the polar bear can fly if you hit the jumps just right. I also found a game called droidbattles. you program a bot with assembler, and put it in a arena to fight it out with bots that others have programmed. he he high tech fun I tell ya.........
does anyone else here like kolf.....I'm in the middle of designing some different courses to play on.......not easy coming up with something new, but it's fun trying........ (http://tongue.gif)

mine is probably "SHOOTING CLEAR CHANNEL COMMUNICATIONS"... OH!
computer game.
Quake. The original. I never got a chance to try Q2, and Q3 isn't a real game. I don't consider these new-fangled arena games to be real. I only like games where you actually do things like walk around and sneak around with a giant gun and shoot the big fat fleshy dude that has the huge missile gun built into his head that waves his arms a lot and yells really loud.
Man, we need better games. Ones like DOOM
-
starcraft and fallout.
-
Probably all games that come with Mandrake Linux (except for a few).
I like Interstate '76, Outlaws, any Grand Theft Auto title, Unreal (Tournament), Half-Life, Natural Selection, Tactical Ops, Jazz Jackrabbit 2, SWAT 3, Duke Nukem 3D, Doom II, Wolfenstein 3D, Quake II, Cube, RollerCoaster Tycoon 2, Moto Racer, Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine.
And a few I forgot to mention. I got most of the games mentioned above lagally, and I'm not gonna tell you which ones (http://tongue.gif) .
-
Warcraft III, Jedi Outcast, and Planetside.

I love you. (http://smile.gif)

Descent: Freespace and Freespace 2... has someone gotten these running in wine/winex yet? because if they have, and can tell me how, this dual boot goes out the window....
-
At the moment Soldier of Fortune II.........but I'm shit, I always get killed :(
-
all five superbombermans for the super famicom (which i play under linux using zsnes nowadays) never got bored of them. i like the other bombermans too but they are not so easy to rig up to play.
That's not entirely true, i like bomberman max for the gameboy color and the best one (until you complete it, then it's dull as ditchwater) is bomberman tournament/story (different name if you have the eng/japanese version) for gameboy advance.
both playable under linux using vba.

WC3, and NWN. Then several games from ZSNES and VisualBoyAdvance like the final fantasy series and the fire emblem series.

Not so much from ZSNES and VisualBoyAdvance, as from SNES and GBA...

Medival Total War.
Most excellent.

I have a ton of the Maxis games. SimCity Classic, SimCity 2000, SimCity 3000, SimTown, SimFarm, SimAnt, SimIsle, and SimTower. I was never very good at StarCraft, but it is lots of fun. I also have the Diablo II expansion. It's great but I can't find the disk right now. Lately I've been playing Quake I. Does anyone know where I can get a Macintosh engine that doesn't require OpenGL? I've been using GLQuake (http://macglquake.sourceforge.net) but I want to play LAN games with machines that have OS 9. It would be nice if someone pointed me to where I can download content for the full version, but I'm not trying to use the forums for warez or anything.

Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2. I like racing and fast cars. NFS HP2's car models look realistic(they look exactly like the real cars), the tracks are challenging(if you prefer driving without wrecking any), the environment of the tracks look damn good, it is fun to wreck and outrun cops and the SP tournament and Hot Pursuit tournament is tough(you will sink hours of your time into completing each race in both tournaments with a gold medal). You get a real challenge when you race players online.
(EDIT)The only quirk I have with the game is there is no dashboard view like in previous NFS games. The dashboard view in NFS HP2 is nothing more than a First person view with a speedometer and an odometer, map and position meter...you can't see your dashboard, the steering wheel and the hood of the car. ;(I can't wait for NFS: Undeground. It looks like it is going to have some incredible graphics.
