"Data overload"? What nonsense is this of which you speak? Yes, with Windows servers, you too can enjoy the experience of almost killing millions of passengers due to a gross failure to have a lone batch command run at boot that says shutdown -r -f -t 2592000. What DFs are trying to pass themselves as "experts" in my state? Maybe I could pander LinuxXP to them as "Windows with a Linux core that's guaranteed to never need rebooting"? Morons would take the bait, too...
EDIT: Pardon my perfect English, but WHY THE FUCK DID THEY "UPGRADE" UNIX TO WINDOWS? I mean, isn't that a giant step DOWN, if not only in stability than certainly in security? Yet another reason why Windows should NEVER EVER EVER be entrusted to run "mission critical" systems. Install Gentoo instead, and turn those MSCE certs you cheated to get into decorative origami. ;)

They probably had a classic *NIX system, ie, an old version of AIX, HP-UX, Xenix, or, heck, AT&T Unix Timesharing System. Based on the hardware that those ran on, Windows is close to an upgrade.
Still, for a mission/life-critical system like Air Traffic Control...QNX all the way! (http://graemlins/thumbsup.gif)

wtf, they could have just installed a newer kernel instead of fucking over the server with windows.
slackware all the way!!!
