i saw my first linux add on tv today. it was during the u.s.open tennis match.(dont ask)
anyways... the giz of it all if you havent seen it is:
they had a young boy sitting in the middle of a large white room, then experts would sit across from him and impart wisdom, they had many famous people involved, even muhammed ali.
it said something about learning thru sharing then had a big linux on the screen followed by ibm of course.
but it made me happy.

HOLY SHIT I WAS WATCHING THE US-OPEN TOO. Andy Roddick Is my Fucking Favorite player man. I still cant believe that he won in 3 straight sets. Ferrero should have done better. That was such an emotional time for him and me because i have been watching him ever since he was in the US-OPEN junior tourament. I also saw the add. It was some messed up add. That is really cool how linux is advertising now.

ya Ferrero wasnt playing well. you could see that he just couldnt seem to return a backhand volley.
it almost seemed that he gave up after the second set. i had heard tho that Ferrero had to play 4 games in 4 days, maybe that had something to do with it.

Please, I've been seeing IBM's linux ads since the beginning of time (about early 2002). IBM has been directly advertising Linux in their ads for a year or two now, but this is the first one that is directly and only about Linux itself. Hopefully this trend keeps up and people on the desktop start to respect the Linux name. My mom has not used the Linux partition on her HD once, because she says it would "take too much time to learn it" no matter HOW much I tell her that there is so insanely little learning involved. Gah, I'm bitter.
