Maybe you need to fill in a proxy server. Check your data you've got with your ISP.

"other comp"
>so you're using a router (lan)?
Normally you don't have to do anything.(The installation should have done everything using DHCP)
Does your router use default configurations?
What happens if you do  ifup eth0?
Did you enable DHCP?

Type
ifconfig

Does one of your eth* interfaces definitely have an ip address associated with it?

Than what modem are you using? (Is it PCI?)

If that's true, could you please post the adress of your ISP.

Open a terminal (xterm, konsole etc) and type it there.

I'm not sure I completely understand your setup...but even though DSL is through a phone line, the modem will still connect to the computer via a network cable.  So your statement that there is only dialup on the computer but that there are 3 nics has me confused.

Second...if the other computer was connected successfully to your ADSL account, but connected straight to the modem, you may have to turn the modem off, then back on to reset it.  I've had computers fail to obtain an IP without performing this step.  Just a suggestion though, you should really be running a router or some type of hardware firewall between your computer and the internet connection.

And last...You might not have to specify a name and password for connecting to the internet.  You generally have to provide one for checking e-mail, but many DSL accounts I've worked with were simple DHCP with no user authentication whatsoever.

Just my $.02...the exchange rate will likely vary

Alright, my DSL does have a login, sorry you got confused, i am using dial up on this computer, but DSL connection my other computer. And when fedora boots up it says it cant obtain an ip adress and to check the cables, which i did. So how would i assign an ip adress, because when i used it on win i would get a new ip each tiome i logged onto their network, i have sbc global btw. I called tech support again and this other lady had no idea what linux was so you guys are the only help  i have haha.

It sounds like you might have configured the wrong network card.  Since you mentioned you have 3 installed, it probably defaulted to a card different than the one you intended.

You can run the redhat-config-network command from the command line as root, or you can go through the menu and configure the network devices.

http://fedora.redhat.com/projects/config-tools/redhat-config-network.html (http://fedora.redhat.com/projects/config-tools/redhat-config-network.html)

There is a link from Fedora with some info.

If you haven't already, try adjusting the settings for your network card there.

Another option would be to buy an inexpensive router and set it up to connect to your ISP...then using DHCP to grab a local IP from your router.  If you're planning on running two computers, this is the preferred way to go.

You need to give more info.
*Post everything you know about your modem.
*What's your ISP?
*Did it ever work with an other OS?
*Did it come with an installation CD?

In Fedora, I believe you can also take a screenshot by hitting the Print Screen button.  A picture is worth a thousand words, and a few shots of the network card configuration may be helpful.

If you're set up to obtain an IP through DHCP, it should also be able to grab the DNS.

Just for shits and giggles....try plugging in 64.19.9.33 as the primary DNS.

Reactivate the card, and tell me if this gets you a connection.

Just type ifconfig and tell us what the ouput is.

Nice.  (http://graemlins/thumbsup.gif)

Next, you'll probably want Synaptic(APT4RPM).
Follow Void's RH/Fedora tip (this is very easy):

Have fun.

Great!

That means it was a DNS issue.  For whatever reason, you weren't pulling a DNS address.  You might want to contact your ISP and have them give you one of their DNS addresses.  In theory, a closer DNS will respond faster.
