Void Main, what's the model number of your capture card (for your video camera?) I'm intrested in getting one, but I want to make sure it works in Linux. . .

I am pretty sure mine is a Pinnacle card with a TI TSB12LV26 chipset, pretty sure it's the Pinnacle Studio DV (http://www.pinnaclesys.com/ProductPage.asp?Product_ID=577&Langue_ID=7). The one they sell now is probably not the exact same card, probably better. From everything I have read, most ieee1394 (firewire) cards work in Linux. If they are OHCI they should work. And do make sure they are OHCI if you want to use all of the goodies that hook in to the OHCI driver, most cards are OHCI as far as I know. Here is a list that might help:
http://www.linux1394.org/cgi-bin/hcl.cgi (http://www.linux1394.org/cgi-bin/hcl.cgi)
http://www.linux1394.org/ (http://www.linux1394.org/)
Look for the ones that say "Works Great" under the "Host Adapter" section, and also you might want to look at the details.
Also, I assume you want to buy this to use with a digital video camera. Is your camera supported? What make/model do you have?
For camera compatibility, also see the camera section:
