Title: Digital photo recovery
Post by: Nobber on 23 October 2003, 16:28
Anyone know of software I could use to recover photos from a corrupted filesystem on a compact flash card? There seems to be plenty of Windows software that can do this - though none of it free - but obviously I'd rather use a native Linux recovery tool.

All suggestions welcome...

Do you know what kind of filesystem it is? You could see if there are any utilities to fix it (like fsck).

I'm assuming it's a FAT filesystem - as is usual with flash memory-type things - although I haven't checked. (The card belongs to someone else.) If it were an ext2 filesystem, I think it would be easier to track something down.   (http://smile.gif)   Alas...

I think I'll be giving fatback (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=46038) a go later.
