HP Linux Notebooks (http://www.pcworld.com/news/article/0,aid,110884,00.asp)
Looks like they are only released in Japan... for now (hopefully)

You mean Thialand.
That looks like a cool buy, but a Via C3 will probably be a bit sluggish.
I suppose you could use it on the road, when you got home you could log in to your main desktop through your LAn and work in the garden/shitter (http://smile.gif)

This is good news to see a PC manufacturer putting Linux on. Could it be M$ are losing their grip ? I hope so.

One small step for Taiwan, one great leap for the OEM industry.
Let's hope this gives HP more confidence that they can use to start a gradual thing toward selling PCs with linux to major american/european audiences.

First Munich, now Thailand. Let's hope this spreads. :D

The Thailand lappies came out before Munich told Balmer that they weren't going to use Microsoft software.

I have a feeling a lot of germans are going to switch to linux in the future. We need to get big companies like ATI etc to make hardware and software comaptible with linux.
Thats the only thing holding these operating systems back ..... compatibility (http://www.laisen.dk/uploads/pics/linux.tux.bog.png)
