Title: RH9 Install

A while ago I got the install CD's for Redhat 9 from TuxCDs.com, but the install always completely froze when entering the "semi-graphical" state where it asks me if I want to check the CD media. This would happen no matter what options I chose, including text install, no hardware probing, etc. Yesterday I downloaded the ISO's and burned them myself, and tried to install from those. The md5 checksums all matched up and I burned them very slowly, and had the same exact problem as with the other CD's. If there are no errors with the images and it burned correctly (which I think is true), what could it be? I have RH8 right now, so I highly doubt it's some kind of obscure hardware problem. Any ideas?   :confused:

what is the speed of your computer and all of its specs. Did you ever go threw the CD check step when you put the CD's in the computer

Hey, thanks for answering, and sorry I took so long to respond. It would freeze if I tried to check the media. It doesn't much matter now, as I also have Knoppix installed on the hard drive, like kidwithissues. I like it a lot, so I think I might try Debian next. Maybe I'll come back to Redhat again at some point, but as for now I'm plenty satisfied with this. (Oh, and I tried a Gentoo install inbetween... is it just me, or is that even worse than the slackware install?? I didn't complete either, but gentoo seemed insane. Anybody here run gentoo?)
