Title: OpenOffice
Post by: Doogee on 8 April 2003, 15:48
Hey all

I only would use the word processor from open office, now im on a small hard drive i was wondering if its at all possible to just have the writer program of OOo, the rest can go, i dont use it.

if not what are some decent word processing programs (as full featured as OOo Writer) that dont require QT (ie not that Koffice one) i didnt have enough room for QT/KDE.

And ideas or suggestions?

well the very newest version of abiword looks to be as good as the newest version of kword, i am not sure what filesize it comes in at but i think it sounds like just what you are after, to be honest

10 out of 10 for completely irrelevant answer there, and how does that help him fit a word processor into a limited space?

Ahh leave him alone.

Hrmm AbiWord may not infact suit me, i am compiling now, but i see it doesnt have tables (not properly anyway) tables and other advanced stuff is what im looking for, to have just the writer from OOo would be bliss, i dunno if its possible though.

Edit : Error Compiling fsck abiword it was only a small number bump, (i have 1.04 i was compiling 1.05)

doh! yes it is, you are completely correct, however you need the space to unarchive it all and compile it on your disk in the first place too.
