Post by: raptor on 3 August 2003, 06:58
what do you think, do you think that more pdas should come preinstalled with say RedHat or SuSE?

most of the ones right now have M$ windows  on them.

I thought most PDA's came with some Palm OS, Pocket PC's with PocketPc 2002/2003. I'd rather a PocketPC currently. More powerful, more memory. Etc...

My PDA is a Sharp SL5500 with 256MB of SD ram that runs on OpenZaurus (http://www.openzaurus.org/oz_website/content/screenies)

It is the Best PDA i have ever used and would not trad it for any other PDA or crapy Windoze product...

Some Linux PDA's

web page (http://www.linuxdevices.com/articles/AT8728350077.html)

I hate to say it but I could do without a PDA.
I don't do sales or anything so for right now I don't have enough appointments to lose track of.

But I think it would be a cool gadget to fiddle with
a 600 dollar gadget.

it isnt a PDA but my iomega hipzip ran on redhat.

HP likes the idea of open source tho and invested in making their copy of unix user friendly so i wouldnt be suprised if hp/compaq come out with a new jornada, ipaq with a build of unix on them.
