Title: p2p in Linux.

Since some people seem to claim you need Windows or wine for a decent file sharing system, that's crap, try these:

*pySoulseek:  www.sensi.org/~ak/pyslswww.sensi.ok/ (http://www.sensi.org/~ak/pyslswww.sensi.ok/)

*giFT:  http://gift.sourceforge.net/ (http://gift.sourceforge.net/)
Pick the curses UI.
The introduction tells you there's no plugin for FastTrack(=kazaa), that's wrong. You can find a tar from Gentoo (works for all distros): ftp://ftp.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/gentoo/distfiles/giFT-FastTrack-0.8.2.tar.gz (http://ftp://ftp.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/gentoo/distfiles/giFT-FastTrack-0.8.2.tar.gz)
(install it just like the other's).

i haven't visited your links yet, but how do you fancy putting together a nice easy howto document for beginner users? it's this sort of thing which would be another tick off the list for windoids who won't try linux for x reason or another.

if you're up for writing a nice easy get started in... type document, let me know via PM or email and hopefully i'll get it up on the sites i am affiliated with aimed at newbies, such as openopen.org (which ecsyle runs) promote-opensource.org (possibly, which is run by Panos) and the MES FAQ at belg88.com/faqman (run by TheQuirk).

If you don't want to do that i probably will eventually although i'm well short of time right now.

I will just stick to using windows for P2P. I tried to install xmule, lmule, pyslsk, gift, emule(in wine), shareaza (in wine). And i get some error about the wx windows library (I installed this) or the fucking RPM won't install.
