Title: Problems with Redhat 7.3 and IceWM
Post by: AlexMax on 27 August 2002, 02:52
OK...I downloaded the IceWM-GNOME and IceWM-common RPM;s.  I installed both, but when I tried to set it as a default Window Manager, it tried to run sawfish and IceWM at the same time.  Even when I logged out and back in again.

Next, I tried to add a IceWM option to GDM using GDM's configuration tool, and I could never figure out how to edit the new IceWM's startup script (I click the box and it doesn't put a curser in it and thusly I can not edit it).

Next, I tried failsafe, and tehn 'exec icewm' in teh xterm  That seemed to work.  But then I found out that if I ever tried to go to 'GNOME' or 'GNOME User Apps' in the main IceWM menu it would crash and I would be looking at a GDM screen once more.

I know that there might be a dedicated forum of people who use IceWM to answer this question, but I figure you guys might know about this.  HELP!

Thanks.

What about the fact that it crashes every time I attempt to use the GNOME menus in the main menu, though?
