Title: Thank you
Post by: hex on 25 February 2002, 21:59
Hi all,

I recently got Red Hat 7.2 installed, most everything works great (have not checked sound or modem, or dvd yet ...).  I just wanted to say thanks to everyone that responed to my earlier post.  Centurian, you were right, eth0 timed it self out after about 2 minutes. And thanks to VoidMain for the heads up on the interactive start up.

Everything went great, took a while to figure out how to configure for video card, but I finally got X to work.

Also had some strange, seeminly random kernel panics, that had to do with memory.  I think that had to do with the hardware conficts between kernel and AMD duron.  I think i fixed it by adding append = "noathlon" in the lilo.config. It has been stable for a couple hours now....but we will see...

Thanks again,
keep up the good work
hex  ;)
