it doesnt take you to the place where you fill out forums, just login (which I of course do not have
an accout)!!
-
the top-right box says 'register'
-
Well DAR!
But everytime I do that it goes into the login
proceedure rather then the register proceedure.
look I click on Resgister and I go here

Hey bob,
Its cane here, my last account got deleted
or something.
Anyway I got linux again and I tryed to install it..
im not sure but it could be an older verion.
Anyway it gave me no option to install lilo
or duel disc's etc and after I installed it it
reboted back into windows?
since i cant IM you unless you reply (which i think is stupid) i will answer your question about debian here....
boot off your debian CD, and when it comes to the "boot:" prompt type "rescue root=/dev/hd*" where *= the root partition of where you installed debian.
then once debian boots up type "which lilo" as root, and if you get a location then you have lilo, so you will just need to configure it by running "liloconfig", then run "lilo" and that will install it for you.

Hey dude, are you called Bob? Of course you are, we are all Bob! (http://tongue.gif)

no no its worse then that!
It actually wont instaill its usual self!
For example when I was installing debian
before it gave me the option to install lilo
and what sort of lilo etc. But now it wont give me
that option or an option to make a back-up CD.
So once its installed I cannot boot into it!!

When one Bob falls, there's always another to take his place.

are you installing from a CD?
-
aha why is there so many bobs?
Well anyway Yes I am installing it off the CD.
And for some reason its totally different from
last time I tryed to install it. Most importly
no Lilo so I had no way of booting back into debian
once I so called installed it (which im not sure
if it actually installed).
I downloaded the .iso off the net and put it onto
CD. The one a guy gave me (which wouldnt install
packages) was totally differenct in the install process. Do you have any idea whats going on?
-
did you dl the .iso from the debian website or one of its mirror sites?
Cant you boot off the CD, then get a "Boot:" prompt then type "rescue root=/dev/hd*" like i mentioned above which will boot debian even if you dont have lilo or anything. or.... you could just try installing it again or getting the newest version and installing it.
