it's no really bit deal but recently i have gotten something a tid bit weird to happen in Linux, i will type in a command like su (about every other command too) and here is an example of what i get
[thomas@localhost thomas]# su
password:
-bash: bunch of weird characters: command not found
-bash: bunch of weird characters: command not found
[root@localhost thomas]#
if you have any suggestions on what I can do to clear this up please tell me, thanks. it is not really causing any problems its just annoying, thanks again! (runs off to try the new 2.6 kernel..)

odd. is it due to something in your .profile or .bash_profile (or whatever config scripts bash is using now) files do you think?
-
It's not limited to su then? If you cycle up through your bash command history is the last command the one you just entered or something else?

very odd, but I just updated my kernel, rebooted, and suddenly it's working  i did look into the history and it is correct (now at least). Since it's working i don't wanna mess with it. I just tried out the 2.6 test2 kernel and can't seem to get X to start, and it does not recognize my NIC, think I should file a quick bug report, I checked bugzilla for 'startx' and it came up with nothing. If I am to file a report I should probably copy what the error message gave me when I tried starting x, but I don't know how to copy/paste in command line (yes i am new). I read and followed the instructions here (http://people.redhat.com/arjanv/2.5/RPMS.kernel/readme.txt)
and i should not have to do a modprobe intel-agp because I do not have an intel chipset. I know it's a beta so I should not complain. Sorry this is a bit off topic but I don't wanna create a whole new topic if i don't have to you know. Your help is appreciated, Thanks again!
