Hi!
I am having problemswith loading this OS. Installatio process seemed to complete without any errors. But OS still doen not load.
First of all I am not sure what is the right way for loading Darwin. Ofcourse I created 2 partitions, one boot partition (primary) and one root partition (logical). So, I was thinking maybe there are some restrictions about partitions (both should be primary? may be allocation of partition also matters?).
I tried to load Darwin using Smart Boot Manager (which I prefer cause it understands FreeBSD), byt got *Load Error*.
So, I was thinking maybe someone coud give me some tips how to do thing right.
P.S. I also have w2k and w98 on my box.

When i hear of Darwin i think of Mac OS. Then when i hear Darwin running alongside win2k i think "not possible because its an x86 platform and Darwin doesn't run on it"!
I think i am wrong though in my thinking though!

I was interested in Darwin AGAIN, because from the very beginning it did not suport AMD/VIA platforms. Now that it's possible, i wanted to try it out.
So, just go search the web - Darwin is also available for x86 platforms.

Im not sure what your problem might be. As I understand it Darwin on x86 is very finiky about what hardware it can run on.
Why not try some darwin BBS's?
Here is a list of known working devices from the DNU Darwin site:

So, let's start by explaining why I even thought about trying out Darwin. Just recently i found out that it is also working on AMD.
But so far surfing around the net I get this feeling that noone has really tried this OS on x86. All available guides on installing are really poor. Seems like this OS (for x86) comunity has only a few members (http://smile.gif)
... weird ...

Personly, the only reason I think apple made Darwin x86, has very much to do with project Marklar. one day OS X may be comin to a PC near you!
