Title: SuSe hardware compatibility
Post by: mushrooomprince on 7 June 2003, 01:10
Ok, so im looking into the Idea of getting me a linux box.  And so far i have been recomended either SuSe linux or Mandrake.

I already have looked at hardware that is compatible with mandrake and let me tell you i am not really impressed.  But i cant seem to find any kind of archive that shows hardware compatible with SuSe.

Any help ?

Have you looked at SuSE's home page?

http://hardwaredb.suse.de/index.php?LANG=en_UK (http://hardwaredb.suse.de/index.php?LANG=en_UK)

Don't expect to find many differences. BTW, what knid of hardware are you checking for compatibility?

Try the SuSe web site or LinuxISO.org web site. I use SuSe 8.0 and have a problems with my Aureal soundcard but apart from that and the dumb Winmodem, everthing else worked fine.
