Title: How to Make a Permanent Global Alias???
Post by: LorKorub on 16 July 2002, 13:57
This is a spin-off of the "Netscape Help" thread...

I figured out that if you want Bourne Shell to have a permanent alias that you make it in the .bashrc file.  Suppose I wanted to make an alias that ALL of the shells interpret.  Is there a certain file that I would place it in?

I tried the man page, but all I got was a mile long manual that pertained to bash in its entirety.  I found the alias section, but it doesn't explain how to go about it for the other shells.
