Are you connected through a router, or do you directly log on using PPPoE?

If you're using PPPoE (the logon thing), read this: http://faq.belg88.com/index.php?op=view&t=33 (http://faq.belg88.com/index.php?op=view&t=33)

It's on our FAQ, for Christ's sake!

i am connected through pppoe.  and yes, i have read the faq.  it says it will not work w/ rpm based linux (i.e. mandrake) and you will need build a binary rpm.  and im pretty new 2 linux, so i have no idea what they are talking bout.
