I use Flask .594 AMD and Xmpeg4.2 on my XP machine, but I want something I can use on my soon to be RH 7.2 machine.

yes, does anybody know of programs similar to VirtualDub, FlasKMPEG, Mov2AVI, QuickEditor et cetera et cetera which run in Linux?
This will be a sticking point if none are available, and i will have to keep my windows partition forever...

speak for yourself, Batchelor ;) ! i'm not lazy, but what with this new linux OS, i have a ton of things on my mind for it... i went to my favourite video editing site (http://doom9.org) and found that ALL the programs they have there are for WINDOWS!
so i was a bit shocked.
Thanks a lot for posting those links though, i always think it's good to have these links and things in the bulletin boards to help people who are browsing through. Myself, i just spent the last 2 days reading ALL the back posts in the UNIX forum, very informative, and i got a lot from it...

If anybody is interested in having a discussion about digital video capture and editing in Linux, please don't hesitate to join in this heated discussion on another forum... (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=4b4b7ff9be98281301774fabd0eb2dae&threadid=19093&perpage=10&pagenumber=1) It seems a few of the people there run Linux, but think windows is all out better for video editing et cetera.

I was a little surprised that Doom9.org had only windows programs too. I usually go there for all my DivX needs.
