any way to unrar rar archives? from command line if possible, i like the command line as it is alot more versatile.

You're on RH 8.0 aren't you?
If so you can download and install unrar for Linux
http://rpmfind.net/linux/freshrpms/redhat-8.0/unrar/ (http://rpmfind.net/linux/freshrpms/redhat-8.0/unrar/)
If not, serach on freshrpms, you'll find the rpm packages you need.

After it's installed just do
unrar e nameofrarfile.rar
and it will unpack in the same directory, do a man unrar for more options.

Better yet, have you installed apt-get and synaptic?
You can retrieve the packages from the RH 8.0 repositories and they will be installed properly at once.
