As long as there is good *open-source* CD ROM/burning software there should be nothing to worry about.  Except for maybe all computers coming with new CD ROMs that have proprietary drivers and DRM slopped into them.  Don't throw away the computer you have right now when it gets old, it just may come in useful someday.

Oh there is still plety to worry about! If M$ get's their way, there won't be 3rd party CD software that will do what you want. Don't forget that they want to force software to adheer to the "trusted computing" rules they are laying out. These rules will be enforeced by hardware.

If you install a 3rd party app. that isn't "aproved" it simply wont work.

in windows. and who cares about that? windows becomes more nonfunctional, we all benefit! it's just a battle between how fast windows gets shit and how stupid people actually are. Whichever of those is greater will win the day. If people are stupider, Microsoft wins, if windows gets shit faster than people can put up with it, then i want to be around to see it!

Go DRM! Go Palladium! If you don't like it, then don't feed the entertainment industry that helped created it!  You guys are so weird.  You suck Disney's dick and luve your Britney Spears, but the moment those companies impose restrictions on you, you cry foul.  Just don't watch/listen to their stuff, or pay for it!

You fucktard if you knew your head from your ass, you would know that the majority of Warez , REPEAT, THE MAJORITY of warez comes from WIndows users.   Need an example? Photoshop.
Photoshop runs on windows if you dont know that fucktard.

Well, I love the original Disney... Walt Disney has been frozen when he died. They hope that one day they could bring him alive to let him see what has become of his company. The man would have a heart attack!
His company doesn't care about bringing joy and happyness to the people anymore, all they care about is money, money and money.

And for that Britney Spears thing... I don't like her. She was casted by a record company, because her face was on TV in a TV show (The Disney Show, if I can recall it). She didn't sing because she enjoyed singing, she was casted. Now, she earns money with doing pictures in magazines, commercials etc. She recieves very little from the record company.

I don't like paying money to a record company that gives very little to the artist. Britney Spears would recieve a lot more if everyone downloaded one of her songs and depositted $1 on her bank account. The money you pay for a CD goes to the record company. Very little of it is being transferred to the artist.

I want my damn money to go to the combo and the guy(s)/girl(s) who are making and singing the damn song, not the greedy bastards who publish it, like what's happening now.

"We think of something funny, we create a song, and then the record company rips us off!" -Bloodhound Gang

Yeah, until those bastards at RIAA/MPAA say "there are all sorts of closed source proprietary products out there which work with DRM, so open source cd-burners w/o DRM must be piracy ware, and therefore illegal under the DMCA."

It isn't right, and it may not fly in the courts, but I'm expecting to see this in the news.

Hmmmm well I think it's important to have a user friendly SWITCH TO LINUX site, ready to introduce the Windoids to the land where they can run pirated games, pirated movies, and pirated songs.

They might go WTF what has windows become? Oh cruel fate, how can I ever do every day stuff?(like pirating) This is bullshit ARG! There is no alternative! Suddenly... hey friend, have you ever heard of Linux?  :D

you have it all wrong. windoids are already in the land of pirating, warez and illegal mp3s.

Linux on the other hand allows for the stable running of free fully functional apps, whose usual windows counterparts are high priced and unstable. Actually many of these open source apps have been compiled for windows. GIMP, Mozila and OpenOffice.org spring to mind.

Also, i do not really know how many windoids will take the leap of faith simply because of tighter copy protection.

Yes im aware they are in that realm, I mean 4 years from now when TCPA takes away their RIGHT to do these things, then Linux will be there.

My only concern is that the windoids won't know what this jump to Palladium means for them... because their windoids.  :(

You again?

:/

Have you read half the posts on this forum?  Almost none of us like ANYTHING you have mentioned.  Studio Ghibli should do a hostile takeover of Disney and start producing movies under their banner, so maybe some of their awesome movies would finally get recognition.

And Britany Spears?  Puh-leeze.  You have to be kidding me.  The RIAA is one of the reasons we are so anti-DRM anyway.

Remind me why the fuck are you still here.
