What distro?  You could use KPPP, or a distro-specific tool (depends).

Ah, Redhat.  Easy.  Run the Internet Connection Wizard, and select Modem.  That'll do it.

Of course, you need to make sure your modem works with Linux first.

Threats.  I like it.  :D

Ok, could you link me to the drivers that you found?  I'm not sure how they work.  (I have an idea, but need confirmation.)

The GTW is gateway modems. You can find them on support.gateway.com or google just type in GTW V.92 Voicemodem and it takes you to gateway download drivers page. They only have windows drivers there.Help in anyway you can.

Gateway doesn't make Linux modem drivers, apparently.  You should check linmodems.org.  Or, better yet, I'll do that for you.  (http://tongue.gif)

....

I found a few possible matches, but you'll have to look more yourself.  I looked here: http://free.hostdepartment.com/g/gromitkc/pci_list.html (http://free.hostdepartment.com/g/gromitkc/pci_list.html)  (assuming your modem is a PCI one.)
