Well, now that I finally figured out how to make Linux work with my ethernet card, I'm surfing the internet with linux in a breeze (actually I'm using XP right now- I just got a new laptop and wanted to try it out). I realized eDesktop 2.4 is "old hat" by now, and I want to try a new distro.. Any suggestions?

Here's (http://www.linux.org/dist/) a good place to start.

And once you figure out which one you want, this is the best place to get it: http://www.linuxiso.org (http://www.linuxiso.org) (if you have a high speed connection that is).

Well everyones common recommendation for distros seems to be Mandrake, stay away from that redhat stuff. Install slackware if you got a pair. just my opinion, but i rule.

interesting opinion, if somebody said this nowadays on here, 20 people would be saying 'no way! red hat rocks!'
