i need (big shock) a little help. when ever i try to connect it says "bad file descripter". anyone know how to fix this. i've already read the whole help file on ksirc, and checked all the preferences for something that might have anything to do with that. so if anyone can offer up any suggestions, i'd appreciate it.

use xchat, xchat r0x0rs.

if you don't have a problem switching clients, i recommend kvirc; it has a nicer interface.
I get the error too, it's not ksirc; it's dal.net; i can't connecto to any of the servers with kvirc either.
quote:
Trying next server in the current network: traced.de.eu.dal.net
New connect attempt in 5 seconds: hit the 'connect' button to abort.
Attempting connection to traced.de.eu.dal.net (dalnet) on port 6664
Looking up server hostname...
Server real hostname is please-connect-by-server-name.dal.net
Server primary alias is traced.de.eu.dal.net
Server secondary alias is irc.eu.dal.net
Server hostname resolved to 255.255.255.255
Connection in progress...
[Socket error] : Network is unreachable

ksirc works fine for the other non-dalnet servers i have tried....
sorry bro :( .

Dal Net (http://www.dal.net)

i like ksirc's interface better.
anyhoo, i'm not trying to connect to dalnet servers, though, so can you think of any other reasons why i would be getting this error?
