Title: error with KDE and GNOME
Post by: Devillion on 8 April 2004, 05:43
When i log on to my account, it loads KDE which it the default. After about 2 seconds of showing the KDE wallpaper and icons, it switches to GNOME with my GNOME wallpaper and icons, however, the KPanel is still there.

What the hell is going on?

Oh that...that's Nautilus hijacking KDE.  You ever load Nautilus in KDE.  Not pretty.

Uninstall and re-install Gnome.  There might be another way, but I don't know it.

Ok, start KDE, and after it happens, run KDE System Guard and look for any Gnome based processes running.  Kill them.

If you want to load Nautilus in KDE, you can, but you have to use the "--nodesktop" option.

(If this doesn't fix it, don't worry, I'm still looking  (http://smile.gif)  )
