Title: hopefully the last winex problem...
Post by: hnugz on 12 January 2003, 02:12
After running ./tools/wineinstall, it asks me if i want to create a config file.  I say yes.  It makes one under /root/.wine/config.  Then it asks me if I want to do a wine only installation, i say yes.  Then it asks where I want to install the fake C drive.  I say /c.  Then I get the error message saying:
"could not stat /root/.transgaming/c_drive (no such file or directory), ignoring drive c:
Perhaps you have not properly edited your Wine configuration file.  Registry install failed."
What am I supposed to do here?

It sounds like the config file has not actually been created. Unfortunately I have to go now. Will help tomorrow...

look at the "Path" entry under [Drive C] in the config file. Is it the path you expected? Does that directory exist?

Not the config file in the .wine directory.  There should be a config file in the .transgaming directory.  WineX should have provided its own config file.
