I installed it yesterday, compiled *everything* from scratch with --march=athlon-xp and all that stuff and I ran glxgears after the 8 hour install and it was --no-- faster than mandrake 9.1.  What nonsense!  On the plus side I learned a lot about the inner workings of Linux.
