Ok getting back into Linux. I currently have Redhat 8 burnt.
So should I get RH9, or just use RH8?
1)Does RH9 add anything that a Linux newbie would find useful?
2)Is RH9 faster, slower, or the same speed as RH8?
3)Can I just download an upgrade thing, or do I have to download the three RH9 disks to replace the RH8 ones?
4)If I do have to download the RH9 disks, can I upgrade to RH9 while RH8 is installed, or do I just install RH9 over RH8? Maybe I remove RH8 altogether first?

1. Definitely. Integrated CD-burning with nautilus, better organized menus, less bugs, GNOME 2.2 vs 2.0, anti-aliased mozilla fonts, XFree 4.3 for better graphics and device support, and more.
2. RH9 is faster due to the newer kernel with Native POSIX Thread Library (NPTL)
3. Either way you have to download the same amount of data :(

4) you can upgrade ur rh8 install to rh9 install if you want...

Hehe LU, your a great advocate... it's RH9 for me! Thankfully I have CD-RWs so I can overwrite my RH8 disks.
