in Gnome than in KDE.   In KDE i had alot of slowdowns that only more RAM can fix. Must be all that eye candy that i have.

With GNome though, it just runs smooth.

I am running a Gforce 3 DDR 64 Ram.
I think it runs slower on KDE becuase i bloated the poor thing with so much eye candy that my system has trouble when running UT.

Do you have the full version of UT VoidMan?

THIS FUCKING DOWNTIME WITH ATT IS FUCKING PISSING ME OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am connected once every two days for 2-3 hours tops!!!!!!!!!!!!
Somebody is gonna get his ass chewed this morning!!!!!!!!!!

God dammit!! What the hell are they?? MS techies???

No, I just have the demo. I have the GeForce2 w/32MB . But I do have 512MB of system memory and a Athlon 1600+. I also downloaded and installed the nVidia drivers (from *.src.rpm). The nVidia support was great out of the box but UT required me to install the proprietary nVidia drivers.

Another thing I needed was for VMware to work. It did, although when I shut down and close a VMware session I get an error. I'm sure VMware will be putting out a new version to fix this problem with RH8.0. Doesn't effect the operation except for it seems to hog up all the idle CPU which it never seemed to do on 7.3.

Yes Sir. UT2003 runs in Linux out of the box. Just insert DIsc 3 in your drive search for the Linux Install shell file click it and install will start.
And it looks vewy vewy sweet.

VoidMan I have a 1.5 athlon but you are killing me on the RAM. I have 256.

You have to download the Linux version of the Demo from the Unreal web site. I am under the impression that the Linux version is included on the retail CD release as well.

I hope all those gamers who moan that they have to use Windows are reading this thread. Go and buy Linux written games. They are available.
