so really just pick a distro, you caN proberly make anyone work for "you"?

correct. you can even put your own linux distro together and have everything you want and nothing you don't, and after a few month of use, my redhat install is filled with stuff

looks a bit like windows xp to me...
is it rpm based? is it Free? any info on this? (although i am reading their site now)
-
it seems that you need to pay for it, although http://www.linuxiso.org (http://www.linuxiso.org) has a link for the iso.
-
the iso is free and it is rpm based. ehh...its ok.

Too easy for me. I want linux to be hard.

I just installed Lycoris and found it quit user friendly. It does not give you many options though to choose some so you are really kinda stuck with what you first install. Also i found out that it did not apperently have gcc which is a bad thing. I would recomend it to someone that wants a nice easy transition from windows to linux and also someone that has good hardware.

Lycoris used to be called "Redmond Linux."
Also, someone on some French mailing list said that it was originally made by a few ex-Microsofties. HEhehe.

what is the windows manager on it?
