Well I popped a DVD into my drive only to find that Xine doesnt support encrypted dvd's. This would be ok except every dvd I have except one is encrypted. I did a little google work and found a great free dvd player that not only plays encrypted dvd's, but also has dvd menu support, a feature xine lacks. Im sure a lot of you have tried ogle, but for those who havent check it out.

Once you have xine installed, playing encrypted dvds is no sweat, you just need dvdcss installed and xine will work. Ogle is o.k., but it hardly has the features that xine does.
try this captaincss (http://www.captaincss.tk/)

Well xine doesnt support menus on dvd's, so its a win-lose situation.

And Xine is picky about the DVDs it will play. For example it will play life of Brian, but not Holy Grail.
However all my DVDs work in Ogle. So if Ogle get those basics sorted out, like interlacing, etc. then it will be better that Xine.

Yes ogle is fine. I watched the lord of the rings dvd last night.
