I have installed ICEWM (using make), now how do I run it?

I will assume you are in terminal mode.

Type
switchdesk ICEWM
Press Enter
Type
init 5
Press Enter

That should do it.

That dosent work.....switchdesk gives an error;
Unknown desktop requested: ICEWM

Is ICEWM better than KDE?

Linux is case sensitive. I just checked and it is IceWM so switchdesk IceWM should do it.

I love KDE.. but I cant get an internet connection going on my mandrake, I want to DL more wallpapers =D... anyways.. anyone know howto setup an internet connection for mandrake? I have 56k AOL on windows.... Do I need to pay money to get a connection on linux?

Oh no.. AOL. That might be a show stopper. I do believe AOL is coming out with a version for Linux though (maybe it's already out since Lindows have been claiming to be an "AOL Computer").  (http://smile.gif)

If I can get my modem working.. can I get free internet access wif mandrake..? or..?

You should be able to connect to any ISP that has standard PPP support.
